The Board of Directors is pleased to announce the establishment of the Blakey Education Grant, effective April 18, 2025.  This grant is named in honor of Jason and Jennifer Blakey.

Jason Blakey, our esteemed Vice-President of the Board, is highly dedicated to furthering education in Cherokee County. He was instrumental in the formation of this grant.  His work in the county shows his passion for education and his dedicated support in advancing it.  He tirelessly contributes to the administration, faculty, teachers, and students throughout Cherokee County.  It is common to find him engaged at a school in various capacities. Furthermore, Jason is an active member of several community groups and nonprofits that support education including the Rotary Club of Canton and the Canton Optimist Club, and the Boys & Girls Club.

Jennifer Blakey, Jason’s spouse, is the Media Specialist at Avery Elementary in the Cherokee County School District.  Her dedication to education is found in her 27 years of service to our county.  Her commitment to education and the community is greatly appreciated.
